Probably not, you need to post filter size and plumbing size and number of returns and skimmers.

In order to change the horsepower of a pump, you will need to replace the diffuser to work with that particular horsepower and pump.

If you want to increase the HP of a pump, you need to replace the Impeller, sometimes the diffusor (depends on pump model) and the motor. The impeller is what determines the HP rating of the wet end (i.e. head curve) and the load on the motor so the motor needs to rated to handle the impeller as well. Changing only the motor will not accomplish anything.

I wanted to offer a little advice. Look up Alo they're a Pool & Spa service in Kailua, I think they can help you with a question like this. They are currently providing maintenance and repair service to Hawaii Kai, Kailua, Kaneohe, Honolulu, Waikiki and Mililani, and also do service and repair calls on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. Best of luck to you Bud!
