Hello I am a long time lurker & 1st time poster.
New developement in the above ground pool. BUGS!!! these are 1/4 inch long BLACK and swim quite well. they look like flies, when out of the water & can't get around well but in the water the srim like a fish. they use paddle like arms to scoot all ove under the water. Just refilled this 3 year old above ground pool & there is algiside & clorine in it so far thats it .. so where did these come from. never in there before. what can I add to get rid of them . they swim away from the filter wo thats out.
thanks

I'm new to the pool life, but my totally uneducated guess would be to shock the pool. or superchlorinate. I doupt they can survive this..

Do NOT put dish soap in your pool. You will have a foamy pool for a VERY long time.

Bugs in pool

Hi - we too have been having problems with these bugs. We've used about 10kilo of chock to no effect. Gets rid of them for a day or so and then they return. Looking at the pool the main drainage grill on the bottom of the pool seems to be sending up bubbles every so often- could it be that these bugs are breeding down there?

What is Lemon Joy - I'm desperate to use the pool and will try anything.

Many thanks for any ideas or advice that anyone can offer.
