What should my filter pressure be???

Pool pumps, pool filters and the plumbing of
swimming pools. Sand filters, cartridge filters,
fabric filters and alternative filter media.

What should my filter pressure be???

When I backwash my sand filter it starts out fresh at 8 psi. When it gets to 12-13 the suction, as well as the return jet pressure is next to nothing. Is that correct? I always thought that the pressure was supposed to increase by 8-10 psi before the filter needed to be backwashed.

mine runs at 9 psi and 17 psi l think that is about normal
