Hello,
I have been trying to help my cousin with his pool. He lives in the Dominican Republic where they do not sell the sodu\ium bicarbonate or cyanuric acid. in an effort to stabilize his ph accidentally, 5lbs of soda ash was added to the pool, of 15,000 gallons.
The ph is now at 7.2 -7.4 range, but it is milk white.
Should we add a clarifyier to remove the cloudiness? then vacuum
or,
add muriatic acid?
or
drain,
help, he has no access at the present time to test strips to test the alkalinity, he used the soda ash by mistake thinking it was bicarbonate instead of carbonate.
Although his ph that for the last year has been in the 8.2 + range is finally down which confuses me, because i thought that soda ash would raise the ph not lower it.
PLEASE HELP ASAP, we are in a mess!
Urgent help, too much soda ash
