Bugs drawn to pool by light

Postby sam1329 » Wed 24 Jun, 2009 08:29

We have the regular pool light. Sometimes when we swim at night with the light on we get bugs on the top of the water. They go away when we turn the light off. Is there a different color light we can use that will lessen this problem? Any ideas will be appreciated.

use an LED
the colour of the light is determained by the wavelength (nm) without going into the complex details, they do not emmit UV or IR, and uv is what attracts the bugs
