I think my new Pool wizard is wrong please advise

After reading an administrater reply to another poster I think my Pool wizard is incomplete or wrong. I ordered an above ground PW. I recieved the unit (blue plastic case with metal cylinder enclosed). I did not recieve a container of minerals. Your reply to another poster stated she had the above ground pool wizard, it contained no minerals and the container of minerals had to be added to activate. Is this correct? Did I recieve the wrong wizard or were my minerals to activate not included? My directions just said to drop it in the skimmer. Help!!!!
