High Ph and Alkaline

Follow the procedure in this post to lower the Total Alkalinity (TA). This should also help prevent the rate of pH rise. You can use The Pool Calculator to calculate the approximate amount of acid needed to lower the pH to 7.0 for the procedure. You won't add all the acid at once to lower the TA -- it's a process of acid addition with aeration and takes some time.
