Pump blew, gettting ready to install solar panels

Postby FL50 » Wed 07 Jun, 2006 07:49

Good morning verybody, this is my first post. I'm sure I will have more.

My pool pump just blew and I need to get a new one. I also need to get a new flter system. Right now I have thebig dyatamacious earth filter that looks like a big pressure cooker. It still works, but it leaks at the top and the gauge is busted. Its really old. Anyhow, I'm getting ready to install a dozen 4'x10' panels on my roof and I need to know how many hp I should upgrade to. The existing broken pump is a 3/4 hp pump. My pool size is 26'x14'x5'-6" at the deepest point. My vertical height to my roof is going to be about 9 ft.

Can someone please tell me what size pump I need and also a good new filter system?? I'm down here in South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale) if any of you guys do work down here let me know. I need to hire someone to instal the solar heating system also.

Thank you!
