Leak on side of Sand Filter

Postby angelamwalton » Sun 20 Sep, 2009 15:28

We have a small leak on the side of our sandfilter, next to the joint of the top pipe. Can anyone advise of how to fix it. The previous owners of our house had used a normal silicon sealent but this has failed.
Thanks
Angela

You might try a product called PlastAid if it's a crack in the filter. If it's leaking out of a threaded fitting the best thing to do is to remove the fitting and install a new one. If it is a crack in the filter, start saving your pennies for a new filter as it's almost impossible to make a permanent repair.
