skimmer suction

Postby fhorta » Fri 02 Apr, 2010 12:41

i have a 32X17 20k pool. to vacuum, the hose hooks up to the skimmer on top corner of he pool on the deep end, or there is a second suction point on he floor of pool also on deep end. when i use skimmer, he sucion is veri weak. cleaner moves veri slowli and onli begins o climb walls and slips off.

floor suction is much stronger. there is a valve a the pump to switch suction from top skimmer to bottom of pool.

my question is, if i clog the bottom succion would skimmer succion increase?? problem is if i use botom suction, hose gets tangled up and comes off all the time. thanks for any sugestions.

Yes, closing off a suction port will increase the suction on the other port.
