Dirt around inground pool question?

Hi!

My question is they just dug out the ground for my inground pool yesterday. They did make it to 8' on one end just made it. My ground is total bed rock.

My question is because it is a vinyl liner what should they do to make sure none of the rock comes through the liner? Is there anything they can do to prevent this?

Also the pool company wants to put the pump, heater, & etc. further away than 20 feet will that be a problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
