How long to wait, after applying chemicals, before swimming?
So, just out of curiousity, does anyone ever find out information on how long to wait before swimming after applying all these harmful chemicals to our pools? They always label the containers with warnings about keeping off of skin, clothes, away from eyes, breathing chemicals, but they never seem to say how long you should wait after these treatments are applied. I had to recently add Sodium Bircarbonate to get the Alkalinity up due to it being very low. So how long do you wait after chemical treatments to resume swimming?

It is recommend to wait at least 2 hours after you have added chemicals to go swimming.
I have also read it is better to add your chemicals at night or after you have completed swimming for the day. This is what I do. I have my pump set on the timer to run 4 hours during the night which allows ALL chemicals tha I have added to be completely diluted.
Hope this helps?
