liner slipped water drawned and flooded ground

We have spent weeks preparing the ground and we finally had everything in order when it was time to fill the pool. We woke to our pool draining on the side where the liner slipped off and now the ground around the pool is completely flooded.DO we need to start all over? Should we get professional help? We are up in arms about it to the point were we are almost giving up ont the project...I am sure this is not the first time this has happened to some one...Our pool is in shambles!
