Hey everyone,
Rising Sun Pools in Raleigh, NC is installing my in-ground pool. From the start of the process until it's finished (we are about 60% done) I am documenting everything. Every right and wrong choice I make, companies I select to do the work etc. I have put everything together on one blog because I simply can't post it anywhere on a forum it's to much info. But ask any questions here and I will respond here of course.
This is the full review with images - http://risingsunpoolsreview.com/
The pool build has the following
- Lagoon Style Pool
- Vinyl Liner
- Salt Water
- Heat Pump
- Rear will have boulders and 3 water falls
- Two lighted laminars in the back
- Two seated jet seat in deep end
- Stamped concrete patio
- 6 in ground umbrella holders for shade where/when needed
- Sunbrella furniture
I think that's it, anyway read my review and ask any questions or comment. Thanks!

Your blog reads a bit like an ad for the various companies, as if you were getting kickbacks for the good words.
To most people thinking of building a pool (since I started one myself about a year ago) I think the decisions you made and why (source of the info that helped you decide) would be of most benefit.
Others may have a different view, but that's my $0.02.

If you read through the blog it will tell you why I made the certain choices I did. It explained I get 8 - 12 estimates for whatever I'm doing. Once I'm 100% done with the pool I will actually review each contractor better and tell everyone exactly why they should use them or NOT use them.
I don't get kickbacks tho, would have been nice. =)
I had some bad experiences with some contractors, that isn't posted yet tho.

Ouch, broken pipe under waterfall rocks!
Thats the reason I never backfill with dirt. It always settles. I always use crushed stone (gravel).
Other than that the pool looks nice!
