Brown shock won’t disappear

Water bugs, swimming insects and sweat bees.
Foaming bubbly water. Frogs in the pool.
Dead animals in the swimming pool.

Brown shock won’t disappear

Postby Dtate333 » Thu 10 Jun, 2021 07:38

Please help . I could only find this brown shock from Walmart . I put two packs in and it is just sitting on pool floor. I have vacuumed at least 3 times and the particles just swirl around making water appear dirty. I used the fluccount ( sp) and it didn’t clump it up. I have a sand filter . I can show a pic but I’m unsure how on here . My levels all seem fine when I do test strips.

Shock is just strong chlorine

Let's have your numbers (CYA is very important) Use a pool storee if you don't have a FAS/DPD kit
FC:
TC:
pH:
TA:
CH:
CYA:

Use these common products to balance your pool
Liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite or plain bleach)
Muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) to lower pH and TA
Bicarbonate of soda to raise TA
Aeration will raise pH only
Soda ash will raise pH and TA

Test strips are commonly called guess strips
You really need to get yourself a decent FAS/DPD test kit (Taylor K2006c or TF Testkits TF100 in the states) to get accurate results as maintaining an appropiate shock level means testing quite often during the day and not just dumping shock in and thinking "that's it"

I’ve taken my water to the store before and they said levels were good . I put in whatever they tell me and it’s still there . My cya level is low from my basic test strip from home . But the shock will not dissolve

That's your problem just taking and buying what the pool store says
