Is this normal?

Postby Teddybear » Thu 05 May, 2022 07:43

I have air comming from my return jets, like fiz in the water… I have replaced my “inlet” piping, put gasket maker around the joints. Replaced the pump lid gasket.

I see two turbulent vortex in the bracket lid… I have a super pump Hayward. Is this normal?

Yes on most over powered under filtered systems this is normal.
So despite all your hard work you still have air getting in somewhere.

My Pool: I have a swimming pool with 10 feet depth and it is 1.3 meter large. There are 8 people can take bath at a time. I love to swim.

Yes, you are seeing a bit of turbulence. The bubbles are not necessarily coming from your return jets. They may be coming from your skimmer or from a small leak from around the lid. Best thing is to start from the beginning and first make sure you do not have a hole or crack in your lid. If this is all good, try putting some thin silicone around the sides of the lid where it seals to the pool. Also, if you have hard water, you may have a small leak around the top fitting on the lid. You can use some clear silicone to plug this hole.

What? The skimmer lid isnt sealed, do you mean the pump pre fiter lid? Doesnt really matter as the thread is old but checking you know what you are talking about.

Use silicon grease on your pump pre-filter lid "O" ring not silicon, you'll never remove it
