Good afternoon from Gascony in France where we are looking after a large property with a 5x10m in ground salt water pool.
The sand filter is only a couple if years old but looking through the transpanel at the top, there are many tiny fine 'worms' a couple of mm long, actively wriggling about and almost white in colour. The sand filter also seems to be running at a fairly high pressure even though it has had a good backwash today (17.5 psi).
I've not seen wriggly things before. Should I be concerned. All chemical levels are good.
Many thanks from a keen amateur

Re: WORMS IN SAND FILTER
You say all you numbers are good
Let's have your numbers (CYA is very important) Use a pool store if you don't have a FAS/DPD kit
FC:
TC:
pH:
TA:
CH:
CYA:
A Slam (Shock Level and Maintain) with relation to Chlorine / CYA Chart and Recommended Pool Levels should kill them and more backwashing
