Salt Water question

Postby coykiam » Wed 21 Apr, 2021 19:25

Hi all, newbie here currently in the middle of my pool construction. Have a question regarding salt generator...do I add pool salt into it or will the generator take care of It?

Asking, since I some sales of the 40lb pool salt bags.

Thanks all

A SWCG (salt water chlorine generator) requires the correct amount of salt to be in water for it to generate chlorine gas
Your SWCG instructions will tell you how much is required

Just like to add, buy yourself a decent test kit for checking your chemical levels but not a dip strip although dip strips are good enough for salt testing.
Pool salt costs more that water softener salt because it contains CYA stabiliser so when the stabiliser reaches the correct level you can use softner salt
