Added way too much pH reducer

Postby Squeaker » Tue 01 Jun, 2021 05:23

After doing first shock on our pool pH was reading too high so I added pH reducer (dry acid sodium bisulphate). I read the instructions wrong and added the amount for gallons instead of liters :wtf: I'm very annoyed at myself! I added 450gm instead of what should have been 45gm  what should I do now???My readings have since been okish but TA is high. I'm confused. Help!

Ph 7.8
Free chlorine 3
TA 180
Stabiliser 30-50

Those numbers don't seem bad at all. Acid reduces pH and TA
Reduce pH down to 7.4-7.6 and the TA will come down a bit
To just reduce high total alkalinity you need an Aerator
or some other way of aerating
