No chlorine reading

Postby dorisvankalker » Sun 27 Jun, 2021 09:01

We have a 10000 l lap pool in south India, Auroville

NO chlorine reading

we lowered the chlorine amount a bit (just a try) and all of a sudden we had white kind of flakes swimming around,

we noticed also that the sand filter was leaking and probably needed to be cleaned

we cleaned and repaired the sand filter, did back wash everyday pump was running and we vacuumed, added a lot of chlorine because we had no chlorine reading from than on, alkalinity is low and PH no reading

the water looks perfect and feels good but there is no change since 6 days.

What should we do now, PH fixing first than Alkalinity?

I would be happy to get advice from you.

Thanks in advance

I missed this old post
How are you testing because you should have a pH reading
First of all get a decent FAS/DPD test kit
Let's have your numbers (CYA is very important) Use a pool store if you don't have a FAS/DPD kit
FC:
TC:
pH:
TA:
