liner replacement

Postby pool101 » Mon 01 Aug, 2005 10:57

Hello. Just moved in to a house with an above ground pool. Didn't open it last year and it looks like the previous owners didn't take care of it either. The water won't clear and after draining all the water I discovered that the bottom of the pool has so much fungus/algae and has stained the liner. Other stains on the side of the liner won't come out either. It looks like this pool has not been used for at least 2 years. I think I need a new liner.
Question: Since it's already August, can I wait until next summer to replace the liner? I'll keep the pool (above ground) covered up but no water inside. Will that be a problem during winter? I live in NJ.

with an aboveground pool it works on outward pressure spread evenly around the wall. To prevent the wall from shifting or moving you must keep water in it.
