Pool refilling on its own

hi everyone.. I am new to pools and just started leasing a home with a fiberglass in ground pool… we changed the light bulbs and had a leak around the fixture so had to drain to remove sand.. now I am ready to refill but when I drain the pool all the way in the morning there is a lot of water back in the pool.. no rain.. pool has no fill system… I’m so confused help please I wanna swim!! Lol

Did it rain a lot? Seriously there must be a refil system it wont have come from nowhere.

Does it have a main drain, could be hydrostatic relief valve doing it's job
