I have a pool with an attached spa. The spa is about a foot higher than the pool. I am losing about a foot of water in the spa overnight when the pump is not running. It appears to be leaking into the pool because the level of the pool seems to be rising and I have not had to add any water.
Any Suggestions on the cause?

Sounds like you have an overflow spa sharing one set of equipment with the pool.
Normally you would pull water from the pool and return it to the pool. A small branch line would carry a bit of water to the spa in this mode and should have a check valve on it to prevent just this from happening. That check valve will be missing or leaking.
One possibility to check anyways.

Definitely sounds like a check valve problem. There should be a check valve in the return line to the spa anytime the spa is built above the level of the pool. If there's none there you'll have to install one.

Its either that, or perhaps you have a valve actuator that has stopped working in the middle of its rotation.
1. Did this problem coincidentally start after you used the spa?
2. Do you loose water out of the spa every night?
When the problem is with the check valve, it may not drain down every night.
