Hello everyone,
I'm a 3 year pool owner and a new member to this forum. I'm seeking help to understand a mysterious lighter-colored "ring" about 6" wide that's formed in the deep end after the pool was replastered this past fall.
The pool dates back to the 1970s and has been refurbished at least three times. The latest was back on October 17, 2019 when it was re-plastered with NPT Minipebbles (midnight blue). The pool was immediately filled after they finished and brushed, chemistry balanced for the duration of the season.
Fast forward to May, 2020, the cover was removed and a dark, wide ring appeared in the deep end. After opening up the pool, vacuuming and brushing several times, it now appears as a pale narrower ring compares to the rest of the pool. There was also a 5-day no-drain acid wash that helped make the color uniform, but did not remove the ring.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here? Thank you all in advance for your help. Here are some pics:
