Hello ,
My main drain apparently has a leak, my pool is almost empty but there is water in the deep section. Had a pool service stop by today to take a look. He pulled back the cover and examined the liner and there was no tear. He told me it was the main drain and that I should plug it up, and a repair would require replacing the liner. My pool is 45k gallons and i will be renovating my yard in 2 years looking for any feedback.
Thank You
Main drain issue

Re: Main drain issue
I would look to temporary plug the main drain to make sure the leak is in it before plugging it permanently as repairing a leak in the main drain would be an enormous task

Re: Main drain issue
Dennis that is what I am working on at the moment only a concrete pool with a glassfibre skin over what was the old tiles I believe so going very carefully.
Lefty, there are two possibles, either the main drain has failed which should be evident from a Leak Trac diagnosis follewd by a dye test or it's the pipe that's leaking, so a pressure test should be carried out on the pipe run to the main drain. There are specialist companies that can seal leaks in pipe work without excavation.
