CAN YOU SWAP A DE FILTER ELEMENT FOR LARGER?

Postby qsaghar » Thu 29 Sep, 2022 13:02

I currently have a Pentair PLD-70 DE filter that originally uses a 36 sq ft element. This element seems to get clogged fairly quickly. Can I swap this element for another one with 100 sq ft of surface and is the same element size? Will this change affect the volume of water flow through the filter housing? If someone has any experience with this swap, I would like to hear some feedback. Surprisingly, the 100 sq ft element is considerably cheaper than the 36 sq ft original one that came with the filter housing.
