DE coming into the pool from rtn line

I have a Pentair DE filter 36 we have De coming into the pool thur the return line???? Can someone tell me how to fix it...we tried it 2 times and it floods into the pool as soon as you put it in the skimmer??? help

Hi,

Does your system have a multiport valve on it? If so, make sure it is set for filter.

Most common problem that allows DE back into the pool is a hole in one or more grids or a crack in the manifold that the grids go into.

You will have to open up the filter and inspect all the grids and the manifold. If the DE has been flooding back into the pool then it will probably be easy to see where it is coming through inside the filter.
