Water looks brown as pool fills!
I've read through the forums about water that has turned brown and green, but mine is filling up brown. It's so weird. I'm not on well water. The water looks clear when it's in a glass but as the pool is filling it looks like tea! We put it together yesterday (an Intex 15x48) and started filling last night. It's not quite full yet so we haven't ran the pump.My question is: When we shock it and run the filter will the water clear up? Or is there another chemical we will have to add? What's causing this, hard water or iron in the water?

It's probably iron in the water. You say you are not on well water, but do you have a water quality report from your water district? It should talk about turbidity and probably metal content (iron, copper) as well.
You can have your water tested for metals and then use a metal sequestrant to prevent staining before you add chlorine to the water.

Probably is iron, just treat it with the proper chemicals and it should be fine
