Deceased estate pool that is overgrown with bulrush

Hi,

Deceased estate pool that is overgrown with bulrush. We want to drain the pool because the vegetation is waterlogged and very heavy. The bulrush roots are joined interlaced so I can’t pull them up one at a time. What would you recommend? We don't care about damaging the pool, we just want it drained.

I was thinking a submersible pump but I am unsure if this would do the job.

I have attached an image of the overgrown pool.
