water level dropped - need advice as new owner

Postby rob » Fri 26 Oct, 2007 08:09

Hi. Just bought new house with small doughboy swimming pool. After 1st week, I wanted to add some chlorine tablets as shown by previous owner but then noticed that water level had dropped by approx. 1 foot in only a week. I then noticed that the pump was turned off. Will this be the reason for water level dropping or could there be a leak or a problem with the pump/pump valve, backwash etc.

Please advise if possible.

Thanks
Rob, Hull.

pool should not loose water because pump has not run, refill pool level & watch water level. normal water loss is 1'' to 2'' depending on weather.
