We hit hit water below 5 feet

Postby Polly » Sat 04 Jun, 2005 19:19

I'm wanting to put in a pool, but we hit water after digging about 5 feet (couldn't perc for septic). Is there an in-ground pool we can install?

Years ago, a friend had a similar problem. You don't say if you are building the pool yourself or not. However, if professionally installed, the contractor can build the pool as they build bridge supports. The excavation will have to be formed and the water pumped out until the concrete can be poured. However, water at only five feet may indicate future pressure problems. Spend the money and have an engineer give you an opinion. It will be less expensive in the long run. I hope you get your pool.
