Problems with 5 year old pool

Postby Joe_M-08 » Tue 29 Jul, 2008 11:15

Help! I don't know exactly what to do. My pool is a 5 year ols vinyl lined inground and I already have to replace approximately 1/2 of the concrete decking.

My pool was installed in the fall and the concrete began cracking the first season and has gotten progressively worse. I have been contacting the pool company since the first year and they keep telling me that this is normal, don't worry about it. Now there are pieces of concrete falling out as is the coping.

In addition to this we noticed large lumps under the liner (approx. 1-2 feet long protruding up to 1 inch out), which are becoming stained from the back, and was told by the pool company owner that this is normal is it is the result or clay being pushed up through the ground and there is nothing we or he can do.

If anyone has any suggestions other than ripping out the decking and the liner please let me know.

And also should I expect any support from the pool company or am I entirely on my own.

I am in central NJ (Monmouth county)

Thanks
Joe
