replastering
our gunite pool is only 10 years old and the plaster is completly worn in patchy areas in deep end. i think i poured in some chemicals that caused the wearing away. our pool is not old enough to replaster. can we drain water and repair patchy spots in deep end?
replastering
a 10 year replaster is not unheard of. The pool can be drained and patched. i would suggest cutting and chipping out the old plaster with a grinder to give the area a crisp edge. roughen the shell with a grinder or apply a bond coat and perform the patch. start saving $ now; a replaster is in your near future.

In the future, you can use The Pool Calculator to calculate the saturation index to prevent future dissolving of plaster. The index should be near zero and not strongly negative. You should also get yourself a good test kit. You can get the Taylor K-2006 kit for a good online price here or a TF100 kit from tftestkits(dot)com here with the latter kit having 36% more volume of reagents so is comparably priced "per test".
