Cloudy Water
Cloudy Water
I have an inground pool and have been trying to get it cleans for 2 weeks. We have had the water tested recently and the PH level and clorine levels are okay. We can see three of our steps but cannot see the bottom of the pool. Any ideas?

Cloudy Water
100 Reasons for Cloudy Pool Water.
"chlorine levels are OK" is probably not true since the Free Chlorine (FC) level by itself is meaningless. You need to know the Cyanuric Acid (CYA) level since the FC/CYA ratio determines whether chlorine can kill algae faster than it can grow, assuming your pool is cloudy from algae. If this is what is happening, then read Defeating Algae.
If instead your pool is cloudy from over-saturation with calcium carbonate, then your pH, TA and/or CH are too high.
You should really get your own good test kit so you can know what's really going on in your pool -- either the Taylor K-2006 or TFTestkits TF-100 with the latter kit having more of the reagents you use the most.
