It would work but would take a long time and be inefficient
Best to work out how much you want to lower your CYA and remove that percentage of water and refill

Seconded for all the right reasons. Diluting is fine but just running a hose you would be loosing perfectly good clean water and that is immoral.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
